The delivery of these items is part of the Programa de Insumos Agrotecnológicos (PIATEC) (PIATEC). The packages will be distributed, in coordination with municipalities, to producers throughout the country.
Each package contains 25 pounds of certified seed, triple 15 fertilizer (which is a complete formula that nourishes the plant in a better way due to its great qualities), a seed treater and a complete formula of soil and foliar fertilizer.
The deputies expressed that PIATEC is a strategy promoted by the Central Government to guarantee food security for salvadorans.
This budgetary reinforcement for the Ministry of Agriculture will guarantee that the Agricultural Package Delivery Program will continue. Officials explained that the Legislative Assembly is supporting all actions that will allow the Ministry of Agriculture to guarantee a good harvest.
Deputy Samuel Rivas reiterated the institution's commitment to continue working for the country to have food sovereignty. According to him, the country suffered a setback in agriculture, because no one bet on this area.
The delivery of the agricultural packages will be carried out with the assistance of 150 technicians from the Centro Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria y Forestal (CENTA), the Instituto Salvadoreño de Transformación Agraria (ISTA) and students from the Escuela Nacional de Agricultura (ENA). In addition, more than 250 collaborators from the municipalities who have been trained to accompany the process will participate.
