ASI inaugurates its third edition of Innovation Week 2021

The Asociación Salvadoreña de Industriales (ASI), inaugurated its third edition of Innovation Week 2021 with the objective of improving productivity, generating creative industrial ecosystems and economic growth in the country.

The activities to be held from november 8 to 12 will be virtual and will become the meeting point for national and international specialists, exhibitions of technology companies and entrepreneurs.

The President of the ASI, Eduardo Cader, expressed that they will persist in contributing to the implementation of the generation of an innovative culture, since the technological boom has a direct influence in terms of increasing productivity and competitiveness.

The Undersecretary of Innovation, Fabrizio Mena said that for the last 3 years they have been accompanying the ASI in each "Innovation Week" and are working to build an innovation ecosystem that allows developing and creating innovation, in addition to being able to execute digital transformation projects.

In addition, he indicated that, from the Secretariat of Innovation, they are committed to fostering a culture of transformative innovation. "Where we are more disruptive and use the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), in our favor, and are immersed in the daily life of our work scheme", he said.

"In this new post-pandemic context, digitalization, innovation, the use of technologies that before seemed to be an extra to increase competitiveness, today is a key requirement for social and economic inclusion for citizens", said the representative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Cesar Falconi.

The Chargé d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in El Salvador, Jean Manes, said that El Salvador can innovate and find solutions to climate change.
