Diploma Course on Local Economic Development for municipalities inaugurated

The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) inaugurated the diploma course "Local Economic Development: Proposing a quality leap for municipal management" for local government representatives.

This diploma course aims to strengthen knowledge and innovation capabilities in the promotion of territorial economic development and allied managers linked to the attention in territories, as part of the Local Economic Development strategy implemented by CONAMYPE to support different Municipal Governments in our country.

The diploma course lasts 8 weeks, and participants will receive training in management and strategic issues that will enable them to contribute to improving the economic development of the municipalities they represent.

Among the topics that participants will receive are:

  • Local Sustainable Economic Development.
  • Municipal Sustainability Strategy.
  • Value Chains, Clusters and Commercial Links.
  • -Women and Business: New trends in marketing.
  • Best Practices and Sustainable Tourism Strategies.
  • Best Practices in Municipal Government Financing.
  • Green strategies and renewable energy.

The CUSCATLAN PLAN states that "The development of the Municipalities will be an important element for the achievement of economic growth", therefore CONAMYPE since 2021 promotes local economic development in order to promote, coordinate and join efforts with municipalities to promote development in the productive fabric with actors and sectors of the localities.

CONAMYPE in its work strategy for development, focuses on 4 main and important areas such as: human capital which is the center of development, social capital, economic capital and natural capital which is reflected in the valuation and care of the environment as an asset for development.
