Written by Evelyn Alas

The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) held the “Foro Nacional ExportaSV” through which it seeks to train the export culture in MSEs.

Likewise, this forum seeks to promote the exportable offer of MSEs in the international market, addressing the need to prepare and adapt their products or services to international requirements.

This forum is attended by MSEs with export potential, which are already exporting or wish to update their knowledge in the area of international trade belonging to the following economic sectors: handicrafts, textile and clothing, footwear, technological development, food, beverages, food agribusiness respectively.

With this type of activities, CONAMYPE seeks to reduce non-tariff barriers to exports by MSEs, such as lack of knowledge of international requirements, standards and regulations.

Up to september 2022, CONAMYPE has advised 1,200 MSEs on export-related topics, and from 2019 to September 2022 the MSEs assisted by the institution total US$2 million 068 thousand 488.

Currently, 240 MSEs served by our institution contribute 1009 products to the exportable supply of our country in the following sectors: food, beverages, textiles and clothing, food agribusiness, services, natural cosmetics, various manufactures, footwear, handicrafts, furniture, among others.

Likewise, with the support of CONAMYPE, MSEs with an export offer have participated in 115 promotional events, including business rounds, business meetings, trade missions and international fairs.

It should be noted that the MSEs served by CONAMYPE report that most of their exports are to Central American countries (43%), followed by the United States of America (40%), Europe (11%) and Mexico (6%).
