The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) continues to articulate actions to support MSE business people and entrepreneurs throughout the country.

As part of this type of actions, CONAMYPE and the Mayor's Office of Nuevo Cuscatlán signed an inter-institutional agreement with the purpose of fostering local economic development in this municipality, for the creation of new enterprises, promotion, development, protection and strengthening of micro and small businesses.

This agreement seeks to provide annual support to close to 400 enterprises and MSEs in the upper area of the department of La Libertad, which geographically includes the municipalities of Nuevo Cuscatlán, Antiguo Cuscatlán, Zaragoza, Huizúcar and San José Villanueva.

Also, CONAMYPE is committed to provide business support, training and methodological transfers to the MSEs located in the municipality, to promote entrepreneurship, diversification, productive and commercial reconversion, innovation and industrialization.

Likewise, CONAMYPE will support the municipality in the design, updating and improvement of the local economic development plan, based on the capacities of the MSEs operating in the municipality.

The municipality commits to provide access to information on MSEs for the purpose of updating the census of local businesses and productive fabric, financial needs, and other information that may be necessary to achieve the objectives of this agreement.

In addition to linking women and young entrepreneurs, small producers and MSEs identified in the territory in order to strengthen their skills through entrepreneurial training.

This type of inter-institutional alliances responds to what is stated in the Cuscatlán Plan of the Central Government, which states that the development of the municipalities will be an important element for the achievement of economic growth.
