The Central Government announced the signing of an agreement with the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), which will facilitate access to credit for the granting of housing in the Vida Digna (PROVIDA) program for salvadorans.

CABEI allocated US$50 million to the Fondo Social para la Vivienda (FSV), which will form part of the Programa para la Reducción de la Pobreza y la Exclusión Económica y Social (PRPEES), whose purpose is to improve the quality of life of the region's inhabitants by financing operations to meet the investment needs of the poorest and most excluded communities.

"We know that this is a complex challenge, but not impossible, as long as all the actors are in place to make it happen", said CABEI Director, Luis Rodríguez, for El Salvador.

CABEI Executive President, Dante Mossi, emphasized: "As the bank of central americans, we are very pleased that through this initiative, thousands of salvadoran families will have the peace of mind of having decent housing with a roof, walls, floor, water, sanitation and electricity, and it is expected that 50% of them will be headed by a woman.

The launch was held at the CABEI Representative Office in El Salvador with the presence of the Minister of Housing, Michell Sol, and CABEI Director for El Salvador, Luis Rodríguez. CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, FSV President and General Manager, Oscar Armando Morales and Luis Josué Ventura, CABEI Non-Sovereign Public and Private Sector Manager, Carlos Gómez and CABEI Private Sector Focal Point for El Salvador, Griseida Ponce, participated as witnesses of honor.

"It is a very important day, because we are going to launch the Programa de Vivienda y Vida Digna (PROVIDA)", said CABEI Executive President, Dante Mossi.
