Written by Evelyn Alas

Vice Chancellor Adriana Mira received today a technical delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), an organization with which she seeks to join efforts for the implementation of various strategic national projects.

This organization operates as a partner for the sustainable economic development of the countries that require it, through technical and financial resources. To date, it has provided support to 84 nations in different regions, with initiatives focused on transportation and connectivity, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, industry, international organization, among others.

In the case of El Salvador, since the rapprochement held by the Chancellor of the Republic, Alexandra Hill, last october, in Saudi Arabia, opportunities in the field of renewable energy, wastewater sanitation, tourism, as well as road infrastructure, focused on border routes that link us with the Central American region, have been followed up.

In this day's meeting with Vice Chancellor Mira, other strategic commitments were also mentioned, such as the Pacific Airport and Train, the shipyard of the Port of La Union, among others for the mobility of people and goods.

"The visit to El Salvador is very important for the Central Government, which aims to expand cooperation opportunities with various partners. We appreciate their interest and quick response to the various proposals we have presented to them, in which we are advancing rapidly. This visit is proof of that", said the official.

She said that, during the course of this week, the SFD delegation will hold meetings with various institutions, coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to deepen in the projects under management. Among these, the Ministerio de Hacienda, Public Obras Públicas y de Transporte, as well as the Comisión Ejecutiva Hidroeléctrica del Río Lempa.

Likewise, they will tour some of the points where the aforementioned works are planned to be executed.

"We are here to address the opportunities and projects. We want to be clear about their priorities, with the objective of supporting them. I reiterate our willingness to assist you and to develop strong relationships", said Abdullah Binmoamar, director general of Reports and Statistics of the Saudi Fund for Development.
