Savings accounts grew US$582 million from november 2021-2022

The Superintendencia Sistema Financiero (SSF) savings accounts registered an interannual growth of US$582 million as of november 11, 2022, which reveals the confidence that users feel in the financial system and the security of safeguarding their money in the country.

The Financial System indicators show that the evolution of savings accounts in the same period grew 11.1% in 2022, being US$5,813 million and in 2021 were US$5,231 million.

Likewise, the Superintendency explains that, up to that same date in 2022, loans in the banking sector had an inter-annual growth of US$1,539.0 million in credits granted to the population, thus demonstrating the constant economic dynamism of the country.

The inter-annual growth indicators for loans, banks, cooperatives, and savings and loan companies grew 9.8%, or US$17.272 billion.

Deposits in the banking sector presented an inter-annual growth of US$656.3 million as of november 11, 2022, demonstrating that clients trust the financial system to safeguard their money.

Also, the inter-annual growth of deposits in banks, cooperatives and savings and loan companies was 3.9% US$17,531 million.
