Until september of this year, exports totaled US$5,688 million, that is, a growth of 15.4% compared to the same period of 2021 and the main point was the United States.
The President of the BCR, Douglas Rodriguez explained that this percentage represents an additional US$758 million in exports of goods in the same period last year.
Manufacturing industries account for the largest share of exports, accounting for 76% of total exports, totaling U$4,318 million from january to september 2022, with a growth of 14%.
Maquila also represents 19% of exports, accumulating US$1,099 million as of september.
Sales to Central America grew 16.2%. Exports to Guatemala contributed to this growth with an additional US$131.6 million (15.6%), Honduras with US$149.3 million (18.6%), Nicaragua with US$37.7 million (10.6%), and Costa Rica with US$39.5 million (19.4%).
Likewise, family remittances reported a growth rate of 3.7% and an accumulated US$5.6 billion. This is US$205.2 million more than what was received last year from january to september. On the other hand, they explained that the inflation rate reached 7.5% in the country.
