Treasury filed four new cases of alleged tax evasion before the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR)

The minister of Finance, Alejandro Zelaya presented four new cases for alleged tax evasion, amounting to $3,860,327 million, before the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR).

With the Plan Antievasión new cases were presented for presumed tax evasion, pertaining to the following economic activities:

  • Construction of electrical systems
  • Supervision of civil engineering works
  • Sale of telecommunications equipment

In addition, it filed a notice for alleged smuggling of goods, with an approximate amount of US$682 thousand belonging to the item of clothing, spare parts, cell phone accessories and computer equipment.

"We are going to present a notice of the Plan Anti-contrabando in which the entity simulated import operations to avoid paying taxes and that in the end the merchandise remained in the national territory", said the minister of Finance.

The minister of Finance, said that the "Plan Antievasión” as of june 30 has recovered more than US$345 million and that these cases add up to US$109 million in notices submitted to the Fiscalía General de República (FGR).
