CABEI reinforces its commitment and principles of transparency

Written by Evelyn Alas

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has made great strides in terms of transparency and access to information through the application and strict compliance with its Access to Information Policy as well as all international norms and standards of the AML/CFT/FPDMA Risk Management System, Integrity and Sanctions and its Anti-Fraud, Anti-Corruption and Other Prohibited Practices Policy.

CABEI President, Dante Mossi, said that CABEI promotes policies that contribute to economic growth, poverty reduction and sustainable development in the region for the well-being of all its citizens. They are increasingly committed to this purpose, reinforcing transparency in the management and execution of their operations.

One of the points that CABEI has been strengthening is institutional governance and accountability, taking preventive measures against fraud, corruption and other prohibited practices. In this regard, CABEI has reinforced the mechanisms and units that continuously review and evaluate all established processes and norms, in order to guarantee that the use of its resources or those of third parties it administers are used for the purposes for which they were intended.

Likewise, CABEI joins the commitment to fight financial crimes and protect the integrity of the world financial system, guaranteeing that its operations adhere to international regulations on applicable sanctions, according to their nature.

In addition, since 2021, CABEI has implemented a policy of access to information that allows natural or legal persons to request and obtain information of interest on projects financed by CABEI, which has generated greater openness and transparency in all of its operations.
