According to CONSAA's Executive Director, Julio Castro, the contribution serves to finance the Annual Expenses and Investments Budget of the Consejo Salvadoreño de la Agroindustria Azucarera (CONSAA) for the 2022 fiscal year.
Castro explains that the request is based on Article 16 of the Law of Production, Industrialization and Commercialization of the Sugar Agroindustry of El Salvador.
If the contribution is approved in the next plenary session, the contribution will be made on a quarterly basis and in advance within the first 8 working days of each quarter. In addition, the sugar mills or sugar mills will not be allowed to obtain sugar export permits, as long as they do not comply with the provisions of the decree to be approved.
The CONSAA is a state agency with administrative autonomy, attached to the Ministry of Economy (MINEC).
