Ministry of Finance recovers US$644 million for the State with the Anti-evasion and Anti-smuggling Plan

The minister of Finance, Alejandro Zelaya, announced that since the implementation of the Anti-evasion Plan in October 2019, it has identified and recovered US$644 million, through different lines of action such as control plans and Tax Amnesty.

Also, the Ministry of Finance implemented a fiscal policy with special focus on revenues and combating evasion, aimed at recovering salvadoran resources.

In addition, one of the pillars of the Plan is the filing of notices for alleged crimes against the Treasury, where 136 cases have been submitted to the Directorate for the Defense of State Interests of the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), totaling US$123.2 million.

Authorities of the Dirección General de Aduanas informed that the Anti-smuggling Plan has yielded US$28 million in results, through the presentation of 8 cases before the FGR, for alleged crimes of smuggling of goods and customs revenue fraud, and different operations carried out jointly with the Policía Nacional Civil (PNC).

In this way, the institution is working to recover the money that belongs to salvadorans and seeking solutions to help the country's development.

Likewise, allowing the Ministry of Finance to create more projects of benefit to the salvadoran population.
