25 thousand users will benefit from new electronic payment service for quarantine treatments

The President of the Banco Central de Reserva (BCR), Douglas Rodriguez, the executive director of the Organismo Internacional Regional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (OIRSA), Efrain Medina and the Secretary of Comercio e Inversiones de El Salvador, Miguel Kattan, informed about the new electronic payment service for quarantine treatments, which will be available starting today.

According to the BCR, 25,500 users will have access to the electronic payment service provided by OIRSA and will also benefit 2,296 exporters and 6,455 importers.

This new service will allow fully electronic payment of quarantine treatments offered by OIRSA, which can be made through the Centro de Trámites de Importaciones y Exportaciones (CIEX El Salvador).

This new payment method will benefit importers and exporters of animal and vegetable products and by-products, as well as international land cargo carriers and logistics companies.

Electronic payment will reduce processing times from up to 8 hours to just two minutes, with positive effects on cost reduction, waiting times and business climate.
