BRC Ratings S&P Global S.A. SCV, a securities rating company, once again ratified the 'AAA' rating for Suramericana S.A., as well as for its ordinary bonds for $1 trillion pesos (COP).

This means that the company continues to be one of the country's insurance industry benchmarks.

The rating agency highlighted that Suramericana S.A.'s companies are strengthening their position in the market with a market share of close to 24% at the end of 2021.

It also highlighted that the company has an effective diversification in each of its business lines and marketing channels.

"It is very gratifying to see that, once again, Suramericana receives the 'AAA' rating. This only shows the good work that has been done for several years in our subsidiaries, with which we have contributed to the growth of the region", commented Juan Fernando Uribe, Suramericana's Vice President of Finance and Investments.

Likewise, BRC Ratings evidenced that Suramericana's companies in Colombia presented a rapid recovery in premium production, achieving an annual expansion of approximately 18% per annum at the close of the first quarter of 2022, higher than the average of 7%, recorded between 2018 and 2021.

It should be noted that this expansion has been supported by the different insurance solutions, the dynamism of occupational risk policies and a greater demand for health and life insurance and vehicle solutions, which have presented a progressive rebound after the affectation in demand due to, among many factors, the confinement measures.

In addition, the report mentioned that the favorable trend in premium generation is also occurring in Suramericana's companies outside Colombia, generating an increase of 13% as of december 2021, something that was maintained in the first quarter of 2022.

"We will continue to work to expand our solutions in order to remain competitive in the market and be a benchmark in the region"m concluded John Uribe, Vice President of Insurance at Suramericana.
