In pavilion eight of the Mercado Central of San Salvador there is a special meeting point for its visitors: the "Comedor Bendición de Dios", founded by Lorena de Rivas, an entrepreneur who seeks to better organize the finances of her business. To achieve this, she fulfilled one of her resolutions for the year: to become certified in the AES Mujer-EMPRETEC workshop.

"I was looking for an opportunity like this workshop to deepen my knowledge and skills. Thanks to AES and FUNDEMAS I was able to graduate from the course and now I feel capable of moving my business forward to meet my goals", said Lorena.

AES El Salvador together with the Fundación Empresarial para la Acción Social (FUNDEMAS), carried out the tenth edition of the workshop "AES Mujer - EMPRETEC", from which 30 women entrepreneurs graduated to promote their sustainable economic development.

EMPRETEC is a technical training program designed by the United Nations. For 10 years, through this workshop, AES and FUNDEMAS have been providing participants with knowledge and tools to help them start their own business or strengthen the one they already have.

"These are the qualities that AES El Salvador seeks to promote through EMPRETEC, a program that provides participants with the necessary tools that allow them to undertake, develop and become economically independent, bringing support to their families", said Claudia Soriano, Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator of AES El Salvador.

This year, AES developed the workshop again in person, highlighting innovative topics such as the sales process through digital platforms and social networks. This knowledge was very useful to Beatriz Lopez, a young entrepreneur who uses her computer and cell phone to sell online. Her store is called "Lolé Store", an online platform where she sells handmade sandals.

"I had no idea how to organize and plan. Now with the workshop I was able to know my skills and strengths. During the days I was in the workshop I began to implement that knowledge and I instantly started to see results" explains Beatriz while packing several orders of sandals that she has received from new clients.

With this entrepreneurial training program, AES and FUNDEMAS have a positive impact on the entrepreneurial culture of salvadoran women, promoting inclusion and female empowerment.
