Phase 4 of the Anti-Evasion and Anti-Smuggling Plan launched in the eastern part of the country

The minister of Finance, Alejandro Zelaya, announced the implementation of phase 4 and new actions of the Anti-evasion Plan and the Anti-smuggling Plan in the eastern part of the country, which seeks to reinforce the presence of the fiscal control force in the area, carrying out more inspections and verifications of businesses, ensuring that they comply with all established regulations.

There are 179 cases presented to the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) for US$175 million, of which close to US$60 million come from the eastern part of the country.

Oriente represents 16% of taxpayers nationwide, more than 33 thousand people, San Miguel is the lungs of the country's commerce and sustaining that the levels of invoicing continue to be presented in an improper manner.

With the Anti-evasion Plan, the Central Government has managed to position itself as a reference in tax collection in the region and, without creating new taxes, has directed actions against businessmen who do not comply with their obligations.

Thanks to this plan, 68 people were recently captured in an operation and the official added that despite the launching of phase 4, the eastern zone continues with low levels of taxation and that the registered data does not correspond to the commercialized.

Likewise, with the Anti-Smuggling Plan the government has achieved more than US$113.3 million between seizures, 8 operations, 17 notices and 5 complaints filed before the FGR.

The institution has prepared teams with new investigative tools, providing them with the necessary resources to deal with this scourge that does so much damage to the country's economy.

In addition, they have implemented strategic actions to strengthen Customs control through the use of customs intelligence systems, mobile scanners, trace detectors and drones, in order to improve the detection of illicit goods.

The Dirección General de Aduanas (DGA), explained that they are committed to protect the economy and contribute to the development of El Salvador.
