Huawei presents the winners of the Semillas para el Futuro El Salvador

Huawei announced the names of the 9 young salvadorans who were trained in advanced technology tools thanks to its Social Responsibility project Semillas para el Futuro El Salvador 2021.

The students with the highest scores and winners of the 2021 edition of Semillas para el Futuro El Salvador are the following:

  • First Place, Ernesto Briceño Magaña from Universidad Centroamericana UCA.
  • Second Place, Cesar Eduardo Esperanza Ulloa from Universidad Centroamericana UCA.
  • Second Place, María Fernanda Guerrero Barahona from the Universidad Católica de El Salvador (Santa Ana).
  • Third Place, Danilo Alejandro Colorado Jovel from Universidad Don Bosco

Semillas para el Futuro is Huawei's most important Social Responsibility program worldwide. In this new global context, generated by COVID-19, the company proposed to continue sustaining its commitment to education by reconverting the program and offering the proposal again in 2021 with a focus on distance learning.

The program offers introductory courses on key technologies: 5G, Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence. Said program consists of different presentations by various experts who will share their knowledge and experiences in different areas related to technology from cybersecurity to aerospace.

Aimed at developing local talent, the program seeks to strengthen the transfer of knowledge and improve the use and understanding of people in the telecommunications industry. It also seeks to bridge the gap between labor market needs and educational training.

In this 2021 edition of the initiative, 9 young salvadorans were able to access a week of exclusive online workshops on information and communication technologies (ICT) and business leadership. They also had the opportunity to learn about traditional and modern Chinese culture and how to leverage technology to address social and/or environmental problems in the "Tech4Good" project.

With this new edition, the company reaffirms its mission to provide equal educational opportunities for young salvadorans, as well as its commitment to build a robust talent ecosystem in the country in order to provide tools that support the technological development of Honduras, and reduce the digital divide.

Semillas para el Futuro began in El Salvador in 2018, providing training opportunities for university students pursuing careers a related to the technology sector. To date, this date, this program has trained 42 salvadoran students, some of them are even doing their university internships in the company.

Huawei through these initiatives seeks to prepare young people to face the challenges and demands of new technologies worldwide.

Currently, approximately 125 countries participate globally, training more than 5,000 students worldwide, being a valuable opportunity to create leaders and professionals in Information Technology and Communications.
