The head of the Defensoría, said that they are verifying aspects of information on promotions and offers is complete and also seek to avoid misleading advertising.

The Christmas plan of this institution for this holiday season includes market surveillance, through the monitoring of advertising in electronic commerce, and inspections in establishments nationwide.

Nearly 1,400 inspections have been made by the institution in the western part of the country so far this year. "In 7.5% of the inspections we have found level of non-compliance", reports the president of the institution.

In addition to the verification the President of the Defensoría del Consumidor, is placing to the commercial establishments in Sonsonate the seal that verifies the respect for consumers. To obtain this seal, the establishment receives training and must adapt its regulations to the Consumer Protection Law.

A point of attention of the institution has been placed so that people can approach to solve their doubts as consumers.

With the verification of scales in supermarkets and establishments, it is guaranteed that consumers receive the right amount of product, in accordance with the price they have paid.
