The Defensoría del Consumidor (DF), closed the virtual course “Cartas de Derechos de Consumidores y Usuarios de Servicios Públicos”, which seeks to guarantee quality and warmth in the attention to the user population.

The President of the Defensoría del Consumidor, Raúl Salazar, informed that these charters guide entities in the continuous improvement of public services, quality management, as well as the rights and obligations of consumers and users of services.

Through this declarative document “Cartas de Derecho”, the population will have clarity about their rights and duties when requesting services from government institutions, thus encouraging citizen participation in the management and social control of public services.

In addition, the head of the Defensoría said that efficiency and effectiveness in public service transforms realities and generates greater welfare in the population, while acknowledging the participation of the nineteen private institutions in the virtual course.

After completing the course, the entities will undertake in an articulated manner, and with technical assistance from the Defensoría del Consumidor, the formulation, updating and dissemination of the Bills of Rights of Consumers and Users of Public Services.

"The Bills of Rights express the government's commitment to the citizenship to create a new and modern institutional framework, close, effective and efficient, and to provide quality public services with the warmth that the user population deserves", emphasized the President of the Defensoría del Consumidor, Raúl Salazar.
