Supporting entrepreneurship is essential to find innovative solutions; from creating a startup accelerator or a mentoring program. Along with this objective, Sandbox (SNBX), the first innovation hub in El Salvador, will develop the "SNBX Demo Day".

 

 

There will be US$20,000 in seed capital at stake among 30 participating startups that will have to develop a pitch of their business model for an estimated five minutes, so that the jury, made up of investors, can decide who to support.

Three exponents will be the winners of this great prize, the first place will receive a capital of US$10,000, the second place US$6,000 and the third place US$4,000.

The participating startups will be divided into three blocks, i.e. ten for each section, presenting their ideas to three qualifying jurors.

The pitch is an opportunity to share a brief summary about the business of the products or services offered by the startups.

Demo Day seeks to promote the growth of salvadoran startups through networking, a process that allows to expand the network of professional contacts, establish strategic alliances and publicize their services or products.

This event has the participation of startups in various areas, for example: the sector dedicated to fintech, which seeks to continue providing advice, training and services related to cryptocurrencies or blockchain technology.

Also; information technologies, which aims to offer appointment booking platforms and online spaces: healthy education for families, virtual convention centers; security, innovation and inclusion applications; spaces dedicated to health, business growth, financial advice; paperwork, studies and surveys.

Likewise, the logistics and transportation sector has the mission of expanding the logistics platform for parking lots; creating an application that connects with local businesses to publicize the different food options; the development of a comprehensive platform for doctors and patients.

Agrotech that will seek to help the production sector, with the management of technological tools that improve the quality, harvesting and distribution of food or livestock inputs.  In addition, they include telecommunication, education and clean technology.

There will be 9 qualifying jurors among them are:

  3. Cristian Quiñónez, CEO of Innogen Capital.
  4. Jorge Rodríguez, Head of Central America Advisory CrossBoundary.
  5. Gabriela Flores, Panorama Capital.
  6. Francisco Ardón, General Manager of SERSAPROSA.
  7. César Barahona, General Manager of Integral.
  8. Carmen Blandón, IDBLab representative.
  9. Erick Chacón, President of ASAFINTECH.

Sandbox offers a broad portfolio of projects that support the ecosystem of startups, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and corporations in the country.
