With the participation of prominent international speakers, AES El Salvador held the 6th Urban Arboriculture Seminar "From Tree to Urban Forest" to continue promoting the preservation, conservation, management, census, management, improvement and increase of public and private trees in the country.

The first lecture: "designing from the root, myths and truths of urban trees" was given by the Mexican arborist certified by the Sociedad Internacional de Arboricultura (ISA), Edgar Ojeda, who shared his knowledge and experience on the correct management of trees.

This seminar is preceded by five important arboriculture congresses organized by AES El Salvador as part of its corporate social responsibility axis, AES Medio Ambiente. Their topics were:

Year 2016 - "Right tree in the right place".

Year 2017 - "Modern arboriculture".

Year 2018 - "Sustainable cities".

Year 2019 - "Urban arboriculture: technical and scientific advances".

Year 2022 - "A contribution to sustainability".

With the development of these events, AES has convened more than 400 representatives of public and private entities, professors and students linked to the sector, thus updating their techniques and tools to promote the harmonious coexistence between trees and urban infrastructure in the country.

Trees in cities have a direct impact on people's quality of life. Among their main benefits are:

They reduce heat, absorb carbon dioxide and convert it into oxygen.

They improve air quality and capture pollutants.

They improve the energy efficiency of buildings by reducing the use of air conditioners.

Increase and protect biodiversity.

They are home to a wide variety of wildlife.

Improve the urban landscape, provide aesthetics and balance.

In this way, AES El Salvador together with other sectors of society work to promote a greener and more sustainable future in the country through the implementation of arboriculture.
