AVIANCA painted its second A320 aircraft with TACA's retro livery

Written by Evelyn Alas

After launching an aircraft with Avianca's commemorative 1950's livery on its 100th anniversary, the airline today presents its second aircraft with retro paint to proudly commemorate its history, its origins and with a view to continue strengthening its presence throughout the Americas.

It is an Airbus A320 with registration number N564AV, which from today wears the livery of the Central American company TACA (Transportes Aéreos del Continente Americano S.A.) founded in 1931.

The transformation process of the aircraft took about 13 days, during which 30 technicians worked on the image that one of the most influential companies in Central American aviation used to have in the 90s. Initially, the aircraft will fly in colombian skies and in 2023 it will arrive in El Salvador.

"We recognize our origins and roots and we want to honor that legacy, because it is what allows us today to be stronger and prouder than ever to continue building an Avianca for All. We started this project when we celebrated our 100th anniversary with the Avianca livery of the 1950s and now we commemorate TACA", Adrian Neuhauser, president and CEO of Avianca.

Avianca has a strong connectivity network linking six countries in Central America and the Caribbean with each other, and the region with the rest of the continent with a solid operation of more than 400 weekly frequencies. To date, 2,000 of the airline's 12,000 employees come from TACA. So far this year, more than 4 million passengers have flown in or out of El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Nicaragua.
