As part of its growth strategy, Bancoagrícola, the bank of salvadorans, announced the installation of its 700th financial correspondent, with which it continues to expand this service channel and promote financial inclusion so that more salvadorans have access to formal banking.

The new financial correspondent is located in the municipality of Olocuilta, in "Supertienda Julita", a business led by Maria Julia Aguilar, an entrepreneurial and visionary woman who for 50 years has been committed to the development of her community, who has now turned her business into a source of employment and welfare in the area.

"The global economic context has posed challenges for all of us, both for Doña Julia and her team, as well as for us at the bank, and despite this, we continue to seek innovative ways to accompany our clients and be the financial ally they need. For this reason, we are making important efforts to improve our points of attention with more financial correspondents in order to continue promoting financial inclusion and supporting the productive fabric of El Salvador”, said Marvin Méndez, Head of the Financial Correspondents Department.

The development of the financial correspondent channel has followed a key sustained growth; in 2021 alone, more than 70 new points of attention were added, and this month the 700th correspondent was established. At the same time, the bank is also improving the channel's capacities to increase the volume of stores and transactions.

"This is a strategic effort to promote sustainable development to achieve the well-being of all: and it is only possible thanks to the trust, preference and warmth of our clients and allies. This commits us to offer new alternatives that adapt to their reality in order to improve our way of banking, with innovation and inclusion", concluded Marvin Méndez.

To date, Bancoagricola has the largest national coverage that includes more than 1,900 physical points of service between agencies, ATMs and financial correspondents. They have also bet on the modernization of financial correspondents, making changes in technological platforms to achieve greater growth of this service model throughout the country.
