CMI installed 4,500 panels for sustainable food production with renewable energies

As part of the celebration of 100 years of good stories to tell, Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI) is accelerating its efforts to feed the world and fill it with well-being through a series of projects that seek to positively impact the countries where it has a presence.

In total, CMI has installed 4,500 panels with a capacity of 1,900 kWp. Each of these projects provides between 10% and 25% of the energy consumption of each plant in the country and, as a result of this, an annual emission of 820 tons of CO2 will be avoided.

As part of its sustainability objectives, CMI has installed solar panels at four food production plants in El Salvador to reduce greenhouse gas (GEI) emissions throughout its value chain.

These efforts to produce food with energy from renewable sources have been made possible by the work of CMI's multidisciplinary teams in transformation, energy, and food, thanks to the Corporation's knowledge and experience in the renewable energy market.

"At CMI we act immediately and decisively to combat the serious repercussions of climate change, taking concrete actions to provide positive results for the benefit of the planet and people", explained Marco Matouk, Senior Director of Transformation.

CMI collaborates with the achievement of the Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) and leverages the goal of curbing climate change through operating units with net zero emissions, a decade earlier than expected by the Paris Agreement, and in line with UN Global Compact to drive a zero carbon economy and not exceed 1.5°C of temperature due to global warming.

Corporación Multi Inversiones operates in El Salvador with a family of more than 7,500 employees through its two business groups: food and capital. Through its corporate values of responsibility, excellence, integrity, and respect, this multilatina seeks to implement best practices in all its operations to ensure the quality of its products and services in all the countries where it operates.
