What is the role of sustainability in the country?

The Asociación Bancaria Salvadoreña (ABANSA), held a webinar in which experts talked about What is the role of banking in sustainability, which was given by Franco Piza, Director of Sustainability of Bancolombia.

The presentation emphasized the role of banking in bringing powerful messages to different actors in society, with which it seeks to create strategic alliances that seek the welfare of the country and thus achieve sustainable results.

Franco Piza, director of Sustainability at Bancolombia, explained that guaranteeing individual and community well-being in the short and long term requires a comprehensive vision aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He also explained that Bancolombia's purpose is to promote sustainable economic development to achieve the well-being of all, from the financial inclusion of the productive fabric to have more sustainable communities.

The President of ABANSA, Raúl Cardenal, said that the world seeks sustainable development, so we must shape goals and strategies from the 2030 Agenda. Banks have committed to concrete actions through the protocol to preserve the environment.

He also explained that ABANSA banks seek to create alliances with other sectors of society, such as the public sector and social organizations, to meet the goals set out in Agenda 2031.
