Accompanying the global initiative to raise awareness of early detection of breast and cervical cancer that takes place during the month of october, Grupo Promerica held a discussion, as part of its campaign #InversiónRosa, the biggest investment is your health.

The conversatory is part of the educational actions developed as a Group, to address different topics regarding early detection of cancer, medical points of view and testimonials.

"The medicine is only 50% of the battle, if we put encouragement, if we put a smile, if we have that support with the family, with the church or a prayer group, with all that support the medicine becomes 100% effective" ,said Annie Ortiz, Executive Director of the Fundación Ortiz Gurdian, welcoming the conversation.

The discussion was moderated by Carmen Estevez and with the participation of specialists: Dr. Alejandra Gonzalez from the Fundación Actuar es Vivir de El Salvador and Psycho-Oncologist Emma Rosales from the Fundación Ortiz-Gurdian of Nicaragua. In addition, Karla Icaza and Teresa Castrillo shared their testimonies of survival.

"The diagnosis of cancer made me reflect and fight, I made the decision to take my treatment with discipline. The day I had my mastectomy was the happiest day of my life, even though they had removed my breast, it was the happiest day because I no longer had cancer", said Teresa Castrillo breast cancer survivor, patient of the Fundación Ortiz Gurdian.

"From this space, women will come out of the event aware of the importance of prevention" Carmen Estévez, moderator of the event.

"Breast cancer is a preventable cancer, but we must detect it in time", Dr. Alejandra González, Fundación Actuar es vivir.

In Grupo Promerica we continue to support the communities we serve, and for that reason all the member banks of our group are developing the educational campaign #InversiónRosa, at the same time that they carry out different activities to support foundations that work for the welfare of women in need.
