Written by Evelyn Alas

ASESUISA/SURA shares the vision of contributing to improve the quality of life of salvadorans, therefore actively participates in the development of education, environment and art and culture, which are the three pillars on which they focus their contributions in Corporate Social Responsibility and that are oriented to the community, customers, suppliers and employees.

The company defines itself by its higher purpose: the ability to create well-being and sustainable development for people, organizations and society. Beyond insurers, they are trend and risk managers.

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented many challenges for children and adolescents, especially for the educational continuity of girls, who face the challenge of connectivity and the need for technological inputs.

This is how the cooperation alliance with Plan International El Salvador, a humanitarian organization with presence in five departments of the country and serving more than 360 communities with which it works to promote children's rights and equality for girls, came about.

This alliance between the organization and the corporate sector allows reaching more people with the necessary inputs for their food security.

"We were recently recognized as one of the companies with excellent working conditions for women. With this alliance with Plan International we will support 148 girls with connectivity for their academic preparation, to become the professional women of tomorrow. We seek to enhance the skills of young people and strengthen their sense of belonging", said Enzo Bizzarro, executive president of ASESUSA/SURA.

Through a financial donation, ASESUISA/SURA will provide support to 148 girls from the department of Chalatenango who are Plan International scholarship recipients, and who are in their last trimester of the school year. The contribution consists of support for the connectivity of the students for the virtual sessions of their classes or the completion of their homework.

"We work to support the integral cycle of the girls and to ensure their educational continuity has become one of our main commitments. The Internet and their safety in this digital environment is a task that only together we can achieve", said Carmen Elena Alemán, Country Director of Plan International, El Salvador.

ASESUISA/SURA expects to continue working together for the development of girls and its commitment is to continue actively participating in the initiatives led by Plan International, especially in the framework of the National and International Day of the Girl Child to be commemorated in october.
