During the first semester of 2020, AES El Salvador, through its company DEUSEM, makes important investments that benefit rural and urban áreas, of the Department of Usulután.

With an investment of US$130,000, AES El Salvador, through DEUSEM, executed five projects of Standardization of Third Party Lines (NLT), and an improvement in the electricity distribution network in the department of Usulután. The works provide reliability in the energy supply to more than 6,000 families.

"Energy improves people's quality of life; these community projects are relevant because these help development and guarantee service”, said Luis Ramos, leader of Cantón La Laguna, in the municipality of Usulután, one of the five communities that have benefited from the normalization of their power lines.

AES reported that in the rural areas of Usulután it is investing more than US$75,000 to build new networks within the technical regulations of the General Superintendence of Electricity and Telecommunications (SIGET).

These new networks replace old electrical installations built by non-certified individuals, which represented a risk for the communities and increased failures in the electrical service.

In addition, in the urban area of the municipality of Usuluteco, the distribution company allocated 54,000 dollars to the installation of new electrical infrastructure that increases the reliability of the service received by the inhabitants.

"With this project you will improve the life of the person who has a shop, a mill or any business that requires energy.  We appreciate the effort of AES, which even in the midst of the pandemic, continues to work in favor of the community”, said Lucio Castillo, president of the Community Development Association of the Villa Chentilla neighborhood, in the municipality of Usulután.

By 2020, DEUSEM will allocate more than US$245,000 in projects to improve, maintain, and expand the electricity distribution network to benefit its clients, in the Department of Usulután.

"We are executing several projects in the department of Usulután to provide our clients with the best possible service, and the highest technical standards”, said Abel Villalta, construction supervisor for AES El Salvador.

AES El Salvador works together with the communities to promote the economic and social development of the country, through these works that guarantee an optimal, safe and reliable distribution service.
