The International Monetary Fund (IMF) in its latest economic projections report 2024 places Latin America and the Caribbean with a growth of 1.9% in 2024, and an increase of up to 2.5% in 2025, which implies a reduction for 2024 of 0.6 percentage points with respect to the report's projection in 2023.

El Salvador maintains low inflation in Latin America

El Salvador remains a country with low inflation in Latin America and in a list published by the financial advisory company Bloomberg it is ranked 14th out of 17 countries whose inflation levels have been compared.

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) has delivered its latest economic report for this year, in which it states that Latin America and the Caribbean will grow 2.2% in 2023 and 1.9% in 2024, which implies a slowdown in regional growth with respect to the levels observed in 2022.

New record remittances reported in Latin America

According to a new report from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), remittances received by Latin American and Caribbean countries are projected to reach a record US$155 billion in 2023 if trends observed to date continue.

Huawei successfully completed the ninth edition of its Semillas para el Futuro: program for students from Central America and the Caribbean in San Jose, Costa Rica. 92 students from the region had the opportunity to receive training from ICT industry experts, INCAE (Instituto Centroamericano de Administración de Empresas) professors, representatives from government institutions and organizations such as UNESCO.
