Written by Evelyn Alas

This is a campaign created to raise awareness and education about breast cancer, with the objective of making society aware of its existence and work to eliminate it and lower mortality rates by practicing certain habits and improving lifestyle.

That is why Banco CUSCATLAN from october 1st until october 31st, will illuminate in pink the symbolic Cuscatlán Tower to raise awareness about early prevention of breast cancer.

In addition, the Fundación Edificando Vidas together with Banco CUSCATLAN will give a webinar, as well as provide illustrative material, flyers, business talks, tips and topics related to this cause so that salvadoran women have the necessary support to combat the disease.

According to data provided by the Ministry of Health (MINSAL), in the year 2021 alarming figures on cancer were identified, only in that year 35 thousand 665 salvadorans were diagnosed with some type of cancer.

Each year this disease affects women more frequently, that is why the Fundación Edificando Vidas launches this campaign every year in october.

"As a financial institution we believe in the immense potential that women bring to the economic and social development of our country. That their physical and financial condition is healthy is vital to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)", said Ximena Robin, Deputy Manager of Public Relations and Sustainability at Banco CUSCATLAN.

Banco CUSCATLAN calls on salvadorans to donate through the link that contains a Banco CUSCATLAN account number that they have established on the website of the Fundación Edificando Vidas or they can also do it with any credit card.

"We know that our work and the work being done by oncology professionals in general to stop this disease will not arrive in time to save the lives of many of us, but we are confident that in the not too distant future, all this effort will serve so that no one else has to go through this bad dream that we have had to live. We thank Banco CUSCATLAN for joining this campaign for another year and showing solidarity with the early diagnosis of this disease", said Marcela Carrillo, cancer survivor and executive director of Fundación Edificando Vidas.

What would happen if we convince salvadorans that we can achieve a lot, little by little? Together we can achieve fewer deaths due to late diagnosis of cancer, let's unite to say "STOP CANCER".
