Grupo Agrisal on the passing of Mr. Roberto Murray

Written by Evelyn Alas

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Roberto Murray Meza, who was our President from 1999 to 2013. We will always be grateful for his leadership, passion and transforming vision that led our Group to transform from the beverage industry to what we are today, a business group that is a reference in the real estate and hotel sector for its trajectory, strength and ability to create value and evolve.

A man with a great human quality, who leaves behind a great legacy, dedicated to building a better country, precursor of Social Responsibility, will be remembered by the great Agrisal family as a business leader close to his people.

"Bobby, as we affectionately called him, always promoted a business model based on the welfare of employees and executives of the organization, maintaining the levels of competitiveness required for success", said Eduardo Quiñonez, President of Grupo Agrisal.

Today we would like to remember one of his phrases that frames our business vision. In 2011, when we began our regionalization process, Roberto Murray stated:

"The work has been intense and rewarding, but we are just getting started, there is still a long way to go; key elements to successfully achieve them will be the following: Maintain the union, an ingredient that has given the GROUP AGRISAL the strength, scale and institutional position it now has.

Second, to maintain a clear focus on our ideal strategy, this will allow us to be more effective in our efforts; third, to maintain a single vision to grow this Group for present and future generations. Roberto Murray Meza, december 7, 2011.

"As a family we are dismayed by this irreparable loss, today a cycle in our history closes, Bobby will always be in our hearts, he will always be part of our lives, our family loses a great leader, but we are committed to honor and preserve his family and business legacy", concluded Eduardo Quiñonez.

Roberto Murray Meza, was president of the Fondo de Inversión Social (FIS) and the first president of the Fundación Salvadoreña para el Desarrollo Económico y Social (FUSADES), from 2000 to 2010, he began to promote Responsabilidad Social Empresarial (CSR) in the country, through the Fundación Empresarial para la Acción Social (FUNDEMAS) of which he was president in that period.

In 2017 he received the Jaguares de Centroamérica recognition, awarded by Forbes magazine, for his outstanding work, for his business leadership in the region, he was president of La Constancia from 1980 to 2003 and of the Fundación Rafael Meza Ayau from 2013 to 2022.
