Asociación Fe y Alegría El Salvador and Fundación Silencio (FUNDASIL) signed a cooperation agreement in the framework of the launching of the first employment campaign "Jóvenes Si + Apostando al Desarrollo".

This campaign is being developed with the support of other institutions to raise awareness among entrepreneurs of the importance of supporting young people living in vulnerable situations, and to be considered as people capable of contributing to business and national development.

FUNDASIL's contribution to the campaign will consist in the development of workshops and Webinars aimed at parents and educators of the different Professional Training Centers of Fe y Alegría throughout the country. This important contribution seeks not only to make visible the work of both institutions for the benefit of children and youth, but also to provide them with the necessary tools to face the new reality in the educational system due to the pandemic and that not all of us know how to deal with it.

Jóvenes Si+ was born in Fundación Salvador del Mundo (FUSALMO), in 2020, with the objective of building alliances with companies and employment opportunities in favor of youth, among others.

Asociación Fe y Alegría, with the support of Catholic Relief Services (CRS), which saw the primary need to raise awareness among the general population about the obstacles that many young people in conditions of vulnerability and poverty must face to obtain a decent and fair job opportunity.

During its 51 years of presence in El Salvador, Fe y Alegría has focused its efforts on providing young people in its Vocational Training Centers with the necessary tools to aspire to a better quality of life. Joining this campaign to work with other institutions is one more step to achieve respect and value for the integrity of the country's youth.

FUNDASIL is an organization that promotes the human development of children and youth at risk and social exclusion in urban and rural areas, facilitating alternative educational processes with a focus on gender equity, respect for human rights and the environment, while developing community organization processes that contribute to improving their environment.

It also works on behalf of children and adolescents through adults, contributing to their mental health and education through therapy or psychosocial education. The support of parents and educators is vital for the proper development of young people and, in particular, to strengthen their self-confidence.

"In Fe y Alegría, we have seen the importance of generating strategic alliances and joining efforts to obtain a greater reach, better results in our objectives and generate a greater impact. With everything that has happened since the pandemic began, after talking with our sponsors, we saw fit to focus part of our work on contributing to the issue of first employment, which is so important to mark the beginning of the working life of every human being and contributes to improving their quality of life ", said Alejandro Calderon, general director of Fe y Alegria El Salvador.
