The Defensoría del Consumidor (DC) has intensified its actions to protect families' pockets before the beginning of the school year.

The Defensoría del Consumidor launched this wednesday at national level the Plan Defensoría Escolar 2022, in order to protect the rights and interests of consumers during the purchase of school supplies.

Vendors in downtown San Salvador have had to increase the prices of school supplies to achieve minimal profits, risking offering notebooks at US$0.80 and US$0.90 where they earn US$0.02 and US$0.03 in order not to lose their clients.
