Written by Evelyn Alas

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), carried out a mega day of recruitment of salvadoran human talent, with the purpose of working temporarily in different cities of this nation.

The activity is part of the Labor Mobility Program promoted by the Government of President Nayib Bukele, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to facilitate the population to access employment opportunities abroad in a regular, safe and orderly manner.

On this occasion, 12 companies have arrived in our country interested in having personnel to work in the hotel, kitchen, recreational, gardening, construction, among other areas with a high demand for skilled labor.

In total, more than 500 people are expected to be hired, who will travel to the United States next year to work for periods ranging from 4 to 9 months, according to the requirements of the companies.

As part of the interview and selection process, which was open to people from all over the country, the applicants participated in an informative talk in which details were expanded and queries about the Labor Mobility Program were answered. Guidance was also provided on how to identify and report misleading offers of employment abroad.

As a result of this initiative led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, this year more than 3,500 nationals were hired, while more than 18,000 people benefited indirectly through the new knowledge and resources acquired by these workers.
