Glasswing International, with the support of Fundación Citi, carried out for the first time the "Ideatón" activity in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Honduras and Trinidad and Tobago. This activity officially closed the Club Núcleo: Digital Inclusion and Innovation for Change program, a regional initiative in which 1,300 young people have participated during 2022.

Club Núcleo is under the Youth Opportunities pillar of the Fundación Citi, whose strategy focuses on promoting entrepreneurship in young people and women, under 3 fundamental pillars: Financial Inclusion, Opportunities for Youth and Community Solutions.

In El Salvador, the Ideatón was attended by 100 young people and had the theme of "A greener country", to seek ideas that generate positive impacts on the environment.

The purpose of the Ideathon is to generate innovative ideas to address or respond to a community need. This year the participants applied the knowledge and skills learned during their training at Club Núcleo to develop ideas focused on social innovations accessible to vulnerable populations. During the Ideathon, the young people formed groups and worked on an idea, proposal and solution to a community problem.

At the end of the activity, three ideas were selected, where each team received seed capital of 1,000 USD each.

The event lasted two days, where the young people experienced the following activities: (1) Design thinking workshop; (2) Pitch workshop; (3) Discussion with a social and/or technological entrepreneur, which in El Salvador was attended by Andrés Escobar, co-founder of Coffee IMPACT; and (4) Group space for working and adjusting proposals and adjustment of proposals. On the second day, they made adjustments to their proposals, presented the idea to a panel of jurors, including Citi volunteers, made up of experts in different areas, who evaluated and defined three winners.

The winning proposals in El Salvador were: 1° DreamBlock: ecological brick made from plastic and cement; 2° Magic Plastic: camping utensil kit made from recycled plastic; and 3° ECO- Escoba: ecological broom made from waste.

The program seeks to improve economic opportunities for young people aged 17 to 25 through digital inclusion, innovation and social entrepreneurship training with community-based innovation centers. Program participants go through three training modules during the project year.

Fundación Citi and Glasswing International have a partnership of more than seven years, which has supported more than 9,000 young people in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Honduras and Trinidad and Tobago.
