Migratory flow projection for august vacations and awarding of outstanding immigration agents

The General Directorate of Immigration will appoint 450 immigration officers for the august 2022 vacation period, in which a flow of more than 250 thousand travelers entering and leaving the national territory is expected.

The 450 officers will be stationed in 2 air terminals, 7 land borders, 5 maritime ports and 3 migration delegations in the country.

The Director General of Migration, Ricardo Cucalón said, "We have strengthened the capacity of attention with technological and logistical resources with the objective of guaranteeing the fluidity of entry and exit controls of nationals and foreigners, 24 hours a day".

In addition, he urged the population to be informed about the restrictions imposed by each country due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to avoid being affected in their travels.

At the event, the authorities recognized the work of 13 outstanding immigration officers for their work, willingness, pro-activity, courage and dedication in their work.

Data from the DGME reveal that, from january to date, 1,180,000 foreigners have entered El Salvador, mostly from Guatemala, the United States and Honduras.
