ANEP: urges dialogue between the Executive and the Legislative

Written by Sandy Velasco

The president of the National Association of Private Enterprise (ANEP), Luis Cardenal, referred to the clash of powers that has been generated between the Executive and the Legislative, revealing various reactions within and outside the country's borders.

The president of ANEP said that it was important to resume dialogue in view of these of this type of confrontation between salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, and the deputies.

"The call for insurrection is dangerous, and it is a mistaken interpretation, because the insurrection is made by the people against those in power, and now it is the Executive”, Cardenal explained in a morning interview.

The power encounter began because the congressional deputies did not obey the call of the Council of Ministers to be present at the extraordinary session to be held on Sunday to discuss the approval of the US$109 million loan to launch the last phase of the “Plan Territorial”.

Likewise, the Cardenal said: "We have to see the mechanism that was used, it has reached a crisis of constitutionality, for taking things to the extreme". The ANEP leader concluded by stating that this type of action is unnecessary for the country.

"It was unnecessary to put the country in this tense situation, and that will make us backtrack on the country's progress”, he said.
